The story continues in Hell, where Dubravko Ilić, after being assigned accommodation and a job, tries to find a way to get to Heaven. The topos of Hell is a frequent destination of human imagination throughout numerous artistic periods, with each new staging of this world offering a multitude of recognizable comparative motifs, as well as a place for establishing a different relationship towards death, the only inevitable moment of our life, a moment that Dubravko Ilić skillfully bypasses and postpones, creating the basic narrative thread of this story. The hell that Dubravko Ilić ends up in is comprised of pop-culture patterns recognizable from science fiction films, binary schemes of political divisions, stereotypical representations of family and work relationships, and the categorization of human abilities through statistical questionnaires. Special significance in this construct of Hell is placed on the use of historical and well-known figures who happened to end up in this particular Hell, and encounters with them that would not have been possible in real life. The play can be watched as a stand-alone piece – familiarity with the first part is an experiential upgrade to the overall experience. Along with the preparation of the play, a two-month KUFERedu dramaturgical workshop was held for students of dramaturgy or recently graduated dramaturgs, in which Anamarija Budimir, Petra Jelača, Emma Kliman, Blaž Ordanić, Petra Pleše, Mateja Posedi, Filip Rutić, Vida Zelić participated.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.19.4″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”5px||||false|false” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” sticky_enabled=”0″]

playwright

Pavle Vrkljan

director

Ivan Planinić

cast

Matija Čigir, Domagoj Janković and Pavle Vrkljan

on video projections

Iskra Jirsak and Nikša Marinović

dramaturge

Ivan Penović

costume designer and stage designer

Katarina Perić

light designer and videographer

Ivan Lušičić Liik

music

Nikša Marinović

sound designer

Luka Gamulin

producer

Romana Brajša

production assistants

Hana Zrnčić Dim, Bojan Valentić

light designer

Alen Marin

design

Verlauf

photographer

Karla Jurić

production

KUFER Theater Company and KunstTeatar

premiere

May 8, 2022

duration

80 minutes

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_video src=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgdWZnqZsDI” _builder_version=”4.17.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_video][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=”1400,1399,1398,1397,1396,1393,1392″ posts_number=”20″ show_title_and_caption=”off” show_pagination=”off” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_gallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

The play The Good, the Bad and the Dead 2: Hell, written by Pavle Vrkljan, is a direct sequel to the play The Good, the Bad and the Dead, the very first play of KunstTeatar, which follows the last day in the life of the main character Dubravko Ilić, tricked into Hell after his death.
