Marta and Seven Creeps

When she came to the lighthouse, Marta felt like she didn’t know how she felt, and in this she was stubbornly lonely. She lovingly nurtured her dark thoughts, wallowed in her fears and allowed her own demons to disrupt her breathing rhythm without putting up a fight. Marta thought she was the only one who felt that way. She even made the anxiety her own, took it all just for herself, not leaving me even the tiniest of pieces.

Marta is both sad and happy, sensitive and elated, panicky and excited, wistful and cheerful, spirited and restrained. Marta sometimes cries, Marta sometimes snores in her sleep, and sometimes she cannot leave the apartment. Sometimes she is afraid. Just like me. Just like you. Just like him and her.

But, Marta said she was afraid. Marta said: it hurts.
