The Three Musketeers
Inspired by the literary adventure classic by Alexandre Dumas and the eponymous silent film from 1921, the play The Three Musketeers summarizes the story of the brave Gascon D’Artagnan and the best swordsmen in Paris at the time, Athos, Porthos and Aramis, into a dance and sound theater experience. By combining the performative procedures of radio drama, contemporary dance and non-verbal theater, three dancers and the voice of one actor embody historical figures and fictional characters involved in the intrigues of the French and English courts of the 17th century. Although we usually perceive this well-known novel as “masculine” and “youthful”, the play The Three Musketeers, co-produced by KunstTeatar and the TRAS collective, opens a new unisex and unisex perspective of it.
